A yes or no, on demand
Some decisions are too small to deserve the time you are giving them. Which restaurant, whether to send the message, whether to buy the thing you have looked at four times this week. This tool answers them. You ask out loud, you tap once, and you get a yes or a no.
Nothing is typed in and nothing is recorded, which is deliberate. The question stays in the room. The tool only supplies the answer, and it has no idea what it is answering.
How to use it
- Ask your question out loud, or think it clearly. Phrase it so a yes or a no makes sense.
- Tap the button and wait a moment while it decides.
- Read the answer, and the line underneath, which is usually where the personality is.
- Tap again for a new question. Turn on decisive mode if you never want to be told to ask again.
The trick nobody mentions
The answer matters less than your reaction to it. If it says no and your stomach drops, you already wanted yes, and the tool has done its job without being right about anything. This is an old idea, usually attributed to flipping a coin, and it works just as well here with less rummaging for change.
Why it waits before answering
The pause is deliberate. An answer that appeared the instant you tapped would be over before you had noticed what you were hoping for, and the hoping is the useful part. A second is long enough to catch yourself leaning one way. Tapping again before you have read the first answer is not asking, it is shopping.
Good uses
- Lunch, dinner, and the endless question of which one.
- Whether to send the message you have rewritten six times.
- Two equally reasonable options where the deliberating costs more than the difference.
- Settling a disagreement, provided both people commit to the answer before the tap.
- Getting yourself unstuck when you have been circling the same decision all week.
What it will not do
It will not weigh your options, remember what you asked last time, or know anything about your situation. For decisions with real trade-offs, the Decision Matrix is the better tool. This one is for the decisions that only feel hard because you keep picking them back up.
Every tap is independent. Three noes in a row do not tilt the next answer towards yes, any more than a coin remembers how it landed last time. If a run of the same answer starts to feel like the tool is trying to tell you something, that feeling is the part worth listening to. The tool is not telling you anything.

- How does it decide?
- Randomly, with a slight lean towards giving you a straight answer. Yes and no are equally likely and share ninety percent of the outcomes between them; the remaining tenth tells you to ask again.
- What is decisive mode?
- It removes the ask-again answers entirely, so every tap gives you a yes or a no. Turn it on when you want the decision made rather than deferred.
- Should I actually follow the answer?
- That is up to you, and the useful part often is not the answer. Watch how you feel when it says no. If you are disappointed, you wanted a yes, and now you know.
- Does my question get sent anywhere?
- Your question is never typed in, so there is nothing to send. The tool has no idea what you asked. Nothing about your visit is stored on our servers.
- Can I use it to settle an argument?
- Yes, as long as everyone agrees to be bound by it beforehand. Agreeing afterwards has never worked for anyone.
